其れは通称、エティアス（ETIAS）〓European Travel Information and Authorisation System〓査証（VISA）免除渡航者向けの電子渡航認証システム（欧州渡航情報・認証システム）

アメリカのETASを手本に欧州でも、そのETIASと云う、旅行前に事前に旅行者の個人情報を審査して、その人物が欧州への渡航に際して好ましい人物か好ましくない人物かを調べる、その仕組みの審査料がどんどん値上がりしている、未だ運用も開始されていないのに！

最初にこのシステムでの審査料が発表された当初は5ユーロだった（2016年11月16日付のEUの公式プレスリリースでは

Security Union: Commission proposes a European Travel Information and Authorisation System

An authorisation will be obtained through a procedure that is simple, cheap and fast; in the vast majority of cases, an authorisation should be given in a matter of minutes. The authorisation, the application for which will not take more than ten minutes to fill in and which only requires a valid travel document, will be valid for a period of five years and for multiple travels. An application fee of €5 only will apply to all applicants above the age of 18.

In a move to align with global travel standards and address rising operational costs, the European Commission has proposed raising the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) fee from €7 to €20.

This adjustment, set to take effect once ETIAS becomes operational in late 2026, marks a significant shift for visa-exempt non-EU travelers entering the European Union (EU).

The fee applies to non-EU nationals from visa-free countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, and others.
