Should we prepare for black days of vacation departures at airports? On the eve of the major vacation departures, the UNSA-ICNA union is maintaining its call for air traffic controllers to strike on July 3 and 4, 2025. This industrial action, motivated by demands relating to understaffing, failed technical projects and management deemed toxic, is likely to cause major disruption at French airports.

What impact will this have on travellers?

Flight delays and cancellations are expected, particularly in air hubs such as Roissy, Orly, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse. The Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile(DGAC) has not yet given details of the extent of the disruption, but the dates chosen by the union, at the height of the traffic peak, point to a highly disrupted weekend of departures.
